History of the Acworth Business Association

The ABA was formed in 1979 by a group of Acworth professionals as the Acworth Business and Professional Association. The organization was created to inform and give small businesses a voice in the community and political affairs.

They first began meeting in the basement of the 1st National Bank of Cobb County. In the 20 years since its charter, the organization has grown from 4 members to over 300 current members.

The official name now is the Acworth Business Association, and members come from all walks of life, and all types of business ventures.

With our increased membership, the ABA has become a driving economic and political force in the community of Acworth. In addition to these original charters, the Association has also become an organization known for its leadership in improving the community. Through programs like Partners In Education, Gifts of Love and the Love The Lake Summer Concert Series, the ABA touches the lives of every citizen in Acworth and the surrounding community.
